Color Forecast 2011: “Purely Refined” Color Scheme

Continuing our color forecast series from last week and the week before

Redefining luxury to reveal it’s pedigree through clean, classic lines, exquisite tailoring, and handcrafted heirloom quality, the Purely Refined palette proves that pared down is the new upscale.  Understated neutrals, layering, organic textures, and subtle detailing add to the natural elegance of this timeless look.

Our showroom’s modestly sized convenience kitchen has been redesigned in the Purely Refined palette. Handcrafted Leightonwood cabinets in a rich sage finish with a mocha glaze anchor the space with a splash of color that isn’t loud or pushy.  An island finished in deep gray tones down the colors of the room. Rustic hickory floors in a soft navy finish are an unexpected yet tasteful choice for flooring.  A handmade pedestal table with a multi-step glazing process and a driftwood bunching chest polish the room’s furnishings and offer texture.  The finishes are laid out in the showroom–come check it out this week!

Macadamia

“Macadamia” by Sherwin Williams (#6142)
Quite possibly the most uncommitted neutral I’ve ever put on a wall, this color offers just enough color to know it’s there, without committing your palette to warm or cool tones.  If you’re not sure what look you’re going for yet, but want to get the walls cozied up, this is your overall neutral.

Cerise

“Cerise” by Sherwin Williams (#6580)
Though bold, this rich, bohemian pink would look decidedly sophisticated, even in your living or dining room.

Welcome White

“Welcome White” by Sherwin Williams (#6658)
If you read last week’s post on master bedroom and bath lighting and color, but were perplexed as to what a neutral with a touch of peach or pink in it would look like, this is your color.  Paint this on your ceiling and your skin will look beautiful!

Color Forecast 2011: “Restless Nomad” Color Scheme

Continuing our four-week series for Sherwin Williams’ 2011 Color Forecast from last week

In a global society connected by fast-paced technology, everyone now has access to the vibrant, eclectic mix found throughout other cultures.  This pallette pulls especially from Morocco, Turkey, and Persia’s eclectic mix of earthy, vibrant and dark colors and includes ethnic patterns, exotic animal skins, aged leathers, patchwork and tapestries.

Our showroom’s modestly sized convenience kitchen has been transformed with this pallette and these influences in mind.  Rich, blackberry glazed cabinets anchor this kitchen and are contrasted by an amber stranded bamboo floor.  A wall tile with the texture of leather is complemented by a colorful collection of deco tiles which pop off of the espirito santo granite countertops.  A solid two-tone trestle table juxtaposes spindley alchemy green Ceylon chairs.  A leather sideboard studded with nailheads brings richness to the space.  Colorful draperies are reminiscent of tapestries, while a bamboo shade provides texture and light control.  We have all the finishes laid out in our showroom.  Come check it out this week!
